Pingback: Feast of St. Dominic (August 8): Patron Saint of Scientists and the Symbiotic Relationship between Faith and Science | Teilhard de Chardin
What a powerful quote, “the fragments of the world seek each other,” from Teilhard de Chardin. This really rings true for me. I have ran across his writings here and there, but never read any of his works. Perhaps you could recommend a book?
Hi Debra:
That is a tough question as Teilhard de Chardin’s writing range from two short, but comprehensive works (linked below) to letters, topical essays to deeply mystical writings. A really good introduction book on the life and writings of Teilhard de Chardin is Ursula King’s Spirit of Fire.
The two most comprehensive works by Teilhard de Chardin are The Phenomenon of Man and The Divine Milieu. For the latter, I would also recommend The Divine Milieu Explained: A Spirituality for the 21st Century by Louis Savory. Those works will provide a good starting point to Teilhard’s thoughts. You can also find additional writings on-line at the links above.
Thank you! That will keep me busy for awhile 🙂
Brain food which also feeds the soul. Thank you for your work on this site. 🙂
Thank you for stopping by! I very much enjoy your excellent blog:
