“Teilhard’s Thought: Growing the Tradition Forward”

Speaker: Elizabeth Johnson

For any tradition to have a vibrant future, it needs to keep on growing in dialogue with historical and cultural changes. This lecture will explore areas where such development could serve to open Teilhard’s thought and vision to more robust use by 21st century theology.

About William Ockham

I am a father of two with eclectic interests in theology, philosophy and sports. I chose the pseudonym William Ockham in honor of his contributions to philosophy, specifically Occam's Razor, and its contributions to modern scientific theory. My blog (www.teilhard.com) explores Ignatian Spirituality and the intersection of faith, science and reason through the life and writings of Pierre Teilhard de Chardin (pictured above).

Fabulous, William. I am so happy for you! Can’t wait to read your report 🙂

Great to know you are going to be there, Greg. Who do you already know there? Do you already know Mary Evelyn Tucker, John Grim and Kathy Duffy? We will want to introduce you if you don’t, and also several other people we will know there. Our flexibility is cut down by the fact that I have a nephew in his 50s who will be coming with his wife and two 20-something kids. I think he means it as a gesture of honor for me so I will not be able to ignore him. But lets plan to sit together at lunch.

    • Hi Frank:

That sounds fantastic. I had meet Mary Evelyn Tucker, John Grim and Kathleen Duffy last year. I only briefly spoke with Mary and John but I sat next to Kathleen at lunch.

I am trying to tie some business in New York so my time is limited also. Looking forward to seeing at lunch.
